Darryl passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer in the early morning hours, Saturday, June 25th, 2011, at St. Mary’s Hospital. Darryl leaves behind his wife Carrie and their dog Hank, his parents Chris (nee Porter) and Kerry Baker, his brother Danny, Uncle Dave (Ada), Christa and Jason, Uncle Dean (Heather), Brant, Uncle Terry (Donna-Rae), Danielle (Trevor), Jenney, Jacob, Uncle Perry, Aunt Michelle, Tara, Aunt Bev (Brian), Carla, Caroline, Stephen, Sherry (Greg), grandfather Bert Baker, step grandfather Arthur Johnston, Uncle Darren (Kim), Austin, Aunt Wanda (Terry), Michaela, Marcus, Jason (Vanessa), Evan, Dean, Caravan, Uncle Ivan Baker, his in-laws Bob and Audrey Chepil, Sandra Cerovec, Damon, Nolan, Cindy Chepil (Scott), Clegg, Ryan, Brady, Kaden, Dara (Shawn) Hickman, Mason and his closest friends who are loved as family. Darryl was predeceased by his grandparents Art and Elvie Porter, Jessie Baker, his Aunt Glenda and Uncle Doug and his best friend Chuck. We now know you are with them in Heaven. Darryl will be remembered for his sense of humour, his sarcasm, his one liners and his never ending love for his family and friends. A special thanks to all the staff at St. Mary’s Hospital and St. Paul’s Hospital. You are a special group and your thoughtfulness was much appreciated. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Darryl Dean Baker, to the BC Cancer Foundation. The family had a private family burial service on Sunday, July 10th, 2011, at the United Church section of the Wight’s Road Cemetery in Deer Lake, NL. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel, 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake, NL.
