It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Connie Snell following a courageous battle with cancer on July 31, 2011, at the Northside General Hospital surrounded by her family and friends.
Born in Alder Point, she was the daughter of Eph Arsenault and the late Rosie (Constantine) Arsenault, and was employed at Acadian Lines for many years.
She is survived by her son, Fred, at home; her father, Eph; her brothers, Jerry (Carol), Alder Point, Paul (Adele), P.E.I.; her sister, Louise, Alder Point. Connie is also survived by her stepchildren, Sheila (John) Munroe, Robbie (Gina) and Todd (Crystal), all of New Glasgow; and her special daughter, Donna (Brian) MacNeil, Sydney; goddaughters, Brianna, Alysia and Kelsey; six grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; great nieces and great nephews; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Connie was predeceased by her husband, Fred Snell, her mother, Rosie and her maternal and paternal grandparents.
At Connie’s request, cremation has taken place. Visitation this evening (Tuesday) from 7-9 p.m. in Francis Funeral Home, Sydney Mines. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Wednesday at 2 p.m. in St. Ann Church, Alder Point, with Fr. Peter McLeod officiating. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bras d’Or.
