Mary Agnes McLeod passed away Sunday, July 31, 2011, at Seaview Manor in Glace Bay, with family by her side.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Bridget Kyte.
Until her retirement, she was employed with Nova Scotia Power in Sydney. She was a member of Sydney Pensioners, Club 55 and the Nova Scotia Government Retired Employees Association.
Mary is survived by daughters, Jocelyn, Sydney, Jane (Robert Libbus), Alberta; and son, Kenneth (Germaine), Sydney. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; six brothers, George (Shirley), Joe (Joanne), Bernie, Paddy (Jackie), Kevin (Donna), Leo (Mary Jane); four sisters, Rose (Hector) MacKinnon, Veronica (Wilfred) Cormier, Irene (late Ray Penney) and Pauline (late Howard Wadden); and one special brother-in-law, Pat Burns (Kaye).
She was predeceased by her husband, George, a son, a daughter and a brother in infancy, son-in-law, Donnie MacLeod, daughter-in-law, Beverly McLeod and grandson, Peter McLeod.
As per her wishes, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. Funeral service celebrating Mary’s life will be celebrated at Holy Rosary Church, Westmount, on Friday, Aug. 19, 2011, at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Patient Care Fund at Cape Breton Regional Hospital or a charity of choice.
