Thomas Joseph Hill, longtime resident of Grande Cache, Alta., passed away at the QEII Hospital in Grande Prairie, Alta. on July 24, 2011, at the age of 76 years.
He was born June 7, 1935, in Glace Bay, N.S. and raised in Glace Bay. Tom was a coal miner, carpenter, and equipment operator. His main interests were his grandchildren; he loved to hunt, fish, cook, and camp, and also take care of his many horses. Tom was an active member of the Legion in Grande Cache where he played darts.
Tom will be sadly missed by his wife Sylvia; children, Tommy (Heather), Raymond (Shannon), Darlene (Tony), Ernie (Penny); grandchildren, Brittany, Raymond Jr., Beau (Shalom), Brandon, Hallie, Trayton, Dalton, Mason, Calista; great-granddaughter, Serenity; sisters, Briggy (Allen), Katerine (Dave), Evelyn (Michelle), Mary (Hector), Betty (Bob); brothers, Simon (Pauline), Micheal (Thresa), Allen; and many more nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by mother, Catherine, father, Simon, brothers, Sam, David, Kevin, Garfield, sisters, Wynifred and Margaret.
A funeral service was held at Holy Cross Parish in Grande Cache on July 28, 2011, at 5 p.m.
