Passed peacefully away at the L. A. Miller Centre after a courageous battle with cancer, Pastor Ross L. Sacrey, age 57, surrounded by his loving family. Pastor Sacrey served for over 30 years in the ministry, a calling that he loved dearly. The last ten years being the most rewarding as he served as International Pastor with the Pentecostal Assemblies of Newfoundland and Labrador. Pastor Sacrey is predeceased by his father – Pleman Sacrey; and brother – Wayne Sacrey. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife – Elizabeth Sacrey nee Hunt; children – Timothy Ross Sacrey (Leah), and Wendy Green (Wesley); grandchildren – Timothy, Gabriel and Isaiah; mother – Ruby Sacrey; parents-in-law – Leonard & Phyllis Hunt; brothers – Fred Sacrey (Colleen), Austin Sacrey, Robert Sacrey, Clyde Sacrey (Elizabeth), and Russell Sacrey (Danielle); siblings-in-law – Tony Hunt (Neena), Heather Mercer (Gerald), and Terry Hunt (Christine); special, little furry friend – Buster; as well are a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A special thank you is extended to his pastoral colleagues and to the unwavering support of the Pentecostal Assemblies of Newfoundland and Labrador. Sincere thanks also expressed to Dr. Siddiqui, Dr. McIssac, nurses - Bertha Tee, Susie, Roxanne and all the staff of the H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Clinic, who are all wonderful and too numerous to name. Pastor Sacrey will be resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, St. John’s NL on Sunday, August 7th and Monday, August 8th, 2011 from 2 -9 p.m. Pastor Bruce K. Newman will conduct the Home-Going Celebrations from Bethesda Pentecostal Church, MacDonald Drive, St. John’s on Tuesday, August 9th, 2011 at 2 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, flowers are gratefully accepted, or donations may be made in Pastor Sacrey’s memory to the Canadian Bible Society.
