SMITH, Christine Rose (Davidson) – 85, Orchard Court, Kentville; passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2011. Born on Gaspereau Mountain, Nova Scotia she was the daughter of Rodney and Vera (Coldwell) Davidson. Christine was a lifelong resident of the valley area and during this time was employed with several businesses. She was a member of the Silver and Gold Club and a member of the Wolfville Ridge United Baptist Church. Christine will be deeply missed by her son Roger (Trena Ells), Cambridge; daughter Deborah (Robert) Bezanson, Berwick; brothers Angus (Bessie) Davidson, Gaspereau Mountain; Malcolm (Marie) Davidson, Gaspereau Mountain; Murray (Carol) Davidson, Gaspereau Mountain; Douglas Davidson, Aylesford; grandchildren Michelle Smith, Toronto; Linda Smith, Fredericton; Trevor Smith, British Columbia; Stephen Davidson, Greenwood; Brian (Shelly) Hazlett, Hall’s Harbour; Kimberley Hazlett, Moncton; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband William "Bill" Russell Smith; brothers Gordon, Maynard, Lawrence, Lorimer, Harland; sister Blanche; and daughter in law Sylvia Smith. There was a visitation held on Monday, August 1, 2011 from 7-9 p.m. in the Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home Chapel, Wolfville where a funeral service took place on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at 2 p.m. with Reverend Gary Manthorne officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation, or the Kings County VON.
