OGILVIE, Lewis Raymond - 83, Berwick passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2011 at home. Born in Burlington, Kings Co., he was a son of the late Walter and Blanche (Lewis) Ogilvie. Lewis was a member of the Berwick Baptist Church where he was the custodian for many years. He ran a mill for many years making apple baskets for the valley, picnic baskets and fancy baskets. Lewis enjoyed visiting family especially the children. He looked forward to his brothers' calls and visits. Lewis liked people. He loved to garden. Lewis enjoyed drives in the car across the top of the mountain. He drew strength from reading his Bible several times a day. Lewis is survived by stepchildren, Richard (Tammy) Lutz, Kentville; David (Lisa) Lutz, Greenwood; Betty (Benjamin) Lindsay, Middleton; Brenda Weaver and Allan Lutz, both of Aylesford; former wife, Betty Sydow, Auburn; brothers, Arnold (Olive), Burlington; Allison, Spa Springs; sisters, Leona Oliver, Parkers Cove; Vivian Ogilvie, Burlington; several step grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Lewis was predeceased by brothers, Cyril and Gordon; sisters, Elsie Thorpe, Alda Ogilvie and Yvonne Aughinvaugh. Visitation was held from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, August 9, in the Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, Berwick where a funeral followed by a reception took place at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 10, with Pastor Timothy Bigelow officiating. Interment was in the Berwick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Lewis's memory may be made to the Mental Health Association.
