Kyle Collins
COLLINS, KYLE MACKAY - ‘His demons were stronger than anyone knew’ Kyle left us peacefully and tragically on August 12, 2011. His birth on September 30, 1985 was true to his personality “an event”. Kyle was a complex person. He faced life and his responsibilities seriously and struggled with finding some balance. He enjoyed the outdoors, helping others and finding out what made things work (hence his enjoyment of mechanics). There was nothing “Kyle the hammer” couldn’t fix! He was a very social and likeable person. Kyle had many friends and acquaintances. He never met anyone he didn’t like and always made an effort to get to know them on some level. Kyle was a brilliant mechanic respected by his friends, co-workers and supervisors. He was always ready to help anyone and offer advise. Kyle was quick with a hug and a “It’ll be ok” for everyone who needed it especially for his parents and siblings. He was always ready with a story or a helping hand. Kyle wanted everyone to be happy and did what ever he could to make it happen. He was thoughtful, considerate and respectful to all. Kyle was ‘no angel” but his good points far out weighted his bad ones. Kyle is survived by his best friend and girlfriend Laura Rowe and his unborn child. His parents, Brian and Vivian Armstrong Martin, his brother Tyler whom he respected and would do anything for, his sister Tegan, with whom he shared a special bond, his dog, Dyson, who was his constant companion, his stepsisters Angela and Kathy and their families. Maternal grandparents, Melva and Mackie Armstrong, paternal grandparents Fred (deceased) and Ferne Collins. His biological father Jerry Collins and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Kyle will be cremated and his ashes placed at some of his favourite places at a later date.
In memory of Kyle, there will be a “party” hosted by his stepsister, Kathy, on Sunday, August 28, at 630 Eldersley Ave. from 1 to 6. All will be welcome to come and share funny and favourite stories of Kyle in true Kyle fashion by having a party to celebrate his life. Donations can be made to your choice. It would make Kyle happy to know some were made to the SPCA (he loved his dog), Romero House Soup Kitchen, Hestia House (he was a champion for the less fortunate and was always quick to point out the good in everyone). Kyle’s family thanks all who have and will contine to help us learn to live without him. A special thanks to Const. Sylvia Summerville who went above and beyond to share her time and compassion with us. Kyle you have left us with an enormous void in our lives. R.I.P Love Mom, Brian, Tyler, Tegan, Laura, Aliyah and Dyson.
