William Edward ‘Bill’ Jewells, son of Robert and Eileen (Lind) Jewells, died peacefully at the Dartmouth General Hospital on October 4, 2009 with his loving wife, Tanya and mother, Eileen, at his side after a long, courageous battle with brain cancer.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Tanya (Sabean) Jewells; his daughter, Amanda and son, Ben, at home. He is also survived by his sister, Roberta (Glen) Parsons, Glace Bay; brother, Raymond Jewells (Lisa), Ponoba, AB; grandmother, Jean MacLean, Glace Bay; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He will also be missed by his two loving pets, Maggie and Charlie.
Predeceased by maternal grandfather, Edward Lind; step-grandfather, Bob MacLean and paternal grandparents, Robert and Susan (MacDonald) Jewells and father and mother-in-law, Carl and Marilyn (London) Sabean.
Bill was employed in nursing at the QEII (Abbey J. Lane) in Halifax, NS. He enjoyed spending time with his wife and children, whom he dearly loved. He enjoyed hunting and fishing on his land in the Annapolis Valley and had a great enthusiasm for motorcycles and ATVs. He was a great entertainer with his jokes and enjoyment of life. His dog Maggie never left his side. Bill was dearly loved and will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him.
Donations may be made to the Brain Cancer Foundation or a charity of one’s choice.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the T.K. Bernard Funeral Home, 1216 Bedford Hwy, Bedford, NS. Viewing will be held today (Tuesday), Oct. 6, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 2 p.m. at Saint Thomas Anglican Church in Fall River, NS.
