WEIR, ERIC GEORGE - 1932-2011 - Eric George Weir, 79, of Riverview, passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2011 at the Moncton Hospital. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late John and Harriett (Smith) Weir. Eric attended the Nixon Baptist Church, a retired self employed woodsman and dump truck driver, who truly loved spending time working on his farm and with his horses. He is survived by his loving wife, Helen Weir (Burrell), daughter; Ann Steeves (Peter) of Turtle Creek, son; Mitch (Cathy) of Colpitts Settlement; sisters; Audrey Steeves of Salisbury, Eleanor MacDonald and Esther Douthwright both of Turtle Creek, Eva Bannister of River Glade, brothers; Jack (Ruth) and Bennie (Vivian) both of Turtle Creek, his grandchildren; Tony, Corey, Kyle and Joselyn, great-grandchildren; Lyam and Ophelia as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his son Rick, sisters; Charlotte and Hilda, brothers; Ray, Guy, Clarence, and Howard.
The funeral service will be held from Cobb’s Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 330 Whitepine Road, Riverview (869-2007), on Tuesday August 30, 2011 at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Paul Leger officiating, the family receiving visitors from 1:00 PM, until the time of the service. Donations to the Kidney Foundation of NB or the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. The interment will take place at Hillside Cemetery.
