Janice Hunter
We are sad to announce the death of Janice Shirley Hunter, age 72, of Springhill, NS.
Janice passed away peacefully at the All Saints Hospital in Springhill on Sunday, August 28, 2011 surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the late John and Willa (Tozier) Nelson.
Janice was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She spent her life caring for her family and friends. Over the years she worked as janitor at the United and the Presbyterian churches, and at the old Recreation Center. In recent years she loved going to Tim Horton’s and visiting her friends.
She will be dearly missed by her children Wanda Parsons, Sackville, NB, John Parsons, Mary Parsons, Shirley Hunter, Melissa Hunter (Chris Chapman), all of Springhill; grandchildren Kevin, Lisa, Star, Stacy, and Kayden; great-grandchildren, Jess, Amanda, Samuel, and Jeremy; sisters Doris McCormick, Amherst, several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Hance “Dan” Hunter, infant sister Suzanna Nelson, and sisters Jesse Wilson and Anna St. Croix; brother Sidney.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the A H Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane St., Springhill, NS (902-597-2361) where visiting hours will take place on Wednesday from 7 to 9 pm. The funeral will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, September 1, 2011 at 2 pm, Rev. Glenn Eason officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillside Cemetery, Springhill.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the Palliative Care Unit, the doctors and nurses of All Saints Hospital especially Tabatha Embree and Kathy Fisher, as well as all other friends and family who helped out during a difficult time.
