MacNeill, Norma Jeannette — 90, passed away August 10, 2011 at the Rose-Marie Home Care facility. Born on April 13, 1921, in O’Leary, Prince Edward Island, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Dottie Dennis. Her early education was in O’Leary. She married Rupert H. MacNeill in 1939. In the 1950s, they moved to Wolfville and made their home there. In 1963, she received a B.A. from Acadia University. Jeannette enjoyed knitting and hooking. She was a life member and former regent of the Sir Robert Borden Chapter IODE Wolfville, member of the Ladies Auxiliary Canadian Legion, Wolfville, member of Fairfield Eastern Star, Windsor, and on the board of the former EKMH Wolfville. Jeannette is survived by her son Ronald (Serena), Windsor Forks; granddaughter Dawn, Wolfville; brother Wilfred, O’Leary, PEI; and several nieces and nephews in PEI, Ontario, Alberta, and England. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her husband Rupert who passed away in 1983 and her bother Alfred in 1944. Visitation was held at the Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home in Wolfville, at 1 p.m., Tuesday August 22, 2011, and a funeral service followed at 2 p.m. with Reverend Tom Henderson officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jeannette’s memory can be made to the R.H MacNeill Scholarship Fund, Acadia University, or to the Alzheimer’s Society. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home and Crematorium, 568 Main St., Wolfville, NS B4P 1E7.
