Lois Madeline Fielding

Fielding, Lois Madeline (MacCulloch), 79, Truro - It is with broken hearts and great sorrow we announce the passing of a great wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro, N.S. with the loving support of her four children. Born in Hants County, she was the only daughter of the late Earle and Cora (Singer) MacCulloch. Lois moved to Truro in her early childhood. During her school years she met and later married the love of her life, the late Ronald Frederick Fielding. Making their home in Truro, Lois began her career as an account clerk at Nelson Motors. As a family involved in harness racing, Lois worked as program printer and later became the race secretary and classifer at Truro Raceway for many years. Lois finished out her career as a medical secretary to the late Dr. Ben Karrell. Always the sports enthusiast, Lois was her family’s #1 sports fan, never missing an event her husband, children and grandchildren participated in, whether it be a day at the track, in the show ring, on the ball field, the hockey rink, basketball court or rugby pitch. Lois is survived by four children, Timothy (Beverley), Ronald (Nelson), Kimberlea (John), Jeffrey (Stephanie); nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 2nd from 6:30-8:30 pm with memorial service on Saturday, September 3rd at 1:00 pm both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro with Rev. Larry Harrison officiating. Interment in Bible Hill Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of choice.
