Mary Sheila Saylan, 78, of Garnet Valley, Penn., passed away on Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 24, 2011.
Beloved wife of Dr. Turgut A. Saylan, devoted mother of Kurt O. Saylan and his wife Monica of Basking Ridge, N.J., Susan Silvestro and her husband Caesar of Ridgewood, N.J., and Denise A. St. Germain and her husband Scott of Garnet Valley, Penn., cherished grandmother of Alexandra, Andrew and Isabella Saylan, Sarah and Caesar Silvestro and Julia and Kelly St. Germain.
Daughter of the late Mary and John MacKinnon and sister of the late John and the late Gregory MacKinnon.
Mrs. Saylan was a nurse at Hilaire Farm Nursing Home, in Huntington, N.Y., and she received her RN degree at St. Elizabeth Hospital School of Nursing, in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada, class of 1957.
Mrs. Saylan was born in Canada and lived in Dix Hills, N.Y. until moving to Garnet Valley, Penn., three years ago. Services and interment were held Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011 at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, N.J.
Memorial donations in memory of Mary Sheila Saylan may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
