The death of Esther Irene Lord, wife of the late Ralph M. Lord, occurred on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011, at the Passamaquoddy Lodge, St. Andrews, N.B. Born on Nov. 18, 1924, in Ellerslie, P.E.I., she was a daughter of the late Leslie and Edna (Bertwell) Morrison. Esther had worked as a laboratory technician at the Fisheries Research Board, St. Andrews, N.B. She is survived by her niece, Juanita (Newcombe) Gill of Kensington. Besides her parents and husband she was predeceased by a sister, Helen (William) Newcombe and a brother, Clifford Morrison. Arrangements are under the care of Humphreys Funeral Home, 20 Marks Street, St. Stephen, N.B. (506) 466-3110 with visiting on Tuesday, Sept. 6, from 12:30 until the time of the service at 2 p.m. at Wesley United Church, St. Andrews, N.B. Interment will be in St. Andrews Rural Cemetery. Remembrances made to Wesley United Church, Charlotte County Cancer Society or any charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
