It is with great sadness the family announces the sudden passing of Daniel ‘Buddy’ Hurley, at home, on Sept. 5, 2011.
Born in New Waterford, he was the son of Michael Ikie and Margaret (Blanchard) Hurley.
Daniel worked in construction and was an avid hockey fan, especially the Philadelphia Flyers, he loved music and his guitar.
Daniel is survived by his wife, Patsy (Campbell); sons, Troy Laniez, Ryan Rockett (Nichole), Stephen Campbell (Megan); daughters, Abbie and Amber Hurley (his special angels); sisters, Annie (Alex) MacNeil, Ontario, Laurie Hurley (Jimmy) Iris Hurley, Angel Hurley (Norm), Amanda Hurley (Joe); brothers, Tommy (Gloria), Michael (Cathy), Joseph Kaloc (Patricia), Ron Hurley, Darren Hurley (Melissa) and John Hurley (Joanne); special friend and brother, Blaise MacKenzie; special uncles, Richard (Mary) Blanchard and Bobby (Eve) Blanchard; and numerous nephews and nieces. He will be sadly missed by long time friend, Kim Murphy.
Besides his father, he was also predeceased by his grandparents, Thomas and Catherine (Taylor) Blanchard and Thomas and Angeline (Ransom) Hurley; sister, Kay Hurley; mother-in-law, Patricia Campbell; father-in-law, Stephen Campbell and brother-in-law, Ray Bennett.
Cremation has taken place and a funeral mass to celebrate Daniel’s life will be held Friday, Sept. 9, 2011, at 10 a.m. in the Parish of Saint Leonard with burial in St. Agnes Cemetery and a luncheon to follow in the Parish of Saint Leonard’s hall, Convent Street.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, Plummer Avenue, New Waterford, 862-7500.
