STUART - Allen “Buck”
October 23, 1947 – September 11, 2011
It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Allen “Buck” Stuart at the Ste. Rose Hospital in Ste. Rose du Lac, MB following a brief and courageous battle with cancer. He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish many fond memories; his loving wife Velma, his daughters Jackie (Evan) Powell of Swift Current, Kathy (Mark) Harty of Medicine Hat, Tracy (Sheldon) Prang of Swift Current, as well as Velma’s children Tammy Zastre and Jeff Blakeston of Winnipeg, Candi (Karl) Houston of Winnipeg and J.W. Zastre of Winnipeg, his eleven grandchildren Kelsey, Tiffany, Jena, Keeley, Taylor, Tyson, KyLene, Tori, Layla, Max and Zackery. His sister Linda (Ron) Houghton, and Penny (Chris) Setla, his mother-in-law Edna Higgins, his brothers and sisters-in-law Donna Mullen, Jim (Jackie) Higgins, Jack (Glenda) Higgins, Bill (Liz) Higgins, Fred Geisbrecht, Gail (Murry) Oar, Darlene (Alcide) Pinette, Margaret and Jenny Higgins, his close cousin Glen (Freda) Cadden along with numerous other extended family members. Allen was predeceased by his mother Edna in 1991, his father Allen in 2001 and his father-in-law William in 1999. Allen and Velma were married in August of 1997 and after moving around a bit, they settled in Ochre River, MB in 2006 where they enjoyed working on their house, working in their yard and sitting on their deck and watching the birds. Allen enjoyed going for coffee and visiting with his friends. He loved riding his tractor and puttering at the many things that he loved to fix. Even after he was confined to taking an oxygen tank bottle with him, he was always ready to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. The family would like to thank the staff of the Ste. Rose Hospital for the wonderful care given to Allen and his family. Special thanks to Lloyd, Betty and Lloyd Jr. for the special prayer given at the time of Allen’s passing. In keeping with Allen’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no formal service held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Allen to the Canadian Cancer Society. Sneath-Strilchuk Funeral Services, Ste. Rose Chapel, in care of arrangements, (204) 447-2444, www.sneathstrilchuk.com
