It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear mom, Elizabeth Boutilier, at Peel Manor, Brampton, Ont. on Sept. 7, 2011.
Born in Bras d’Or in Dec. 13, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Lillian (Colvey) Hunley. She was married to the late Dean Boutilier, and lived most of her adult life in Little Pond.
She moved to Brampton, where she was lovingly cared for by her daughters until she entered Peel Manor. Mom was a very gentle lady who was always ready (at any time) for a good game of cards.
Elizabeth is survived by daughters, Marie O’Handley, Sydney Mines, Sharon (Bob), Arlene (Brian), Rosella (Bill), Brampton; daughter-in-law, Marlie Boutilier, Little Pond; sons, Sidney, Sydney Mines, Arthur (Anne), Vancouver, Edward (Linda), St. Catharines, Theodore (Lana), Napanee, Brian (Donna), Little Pond; son-in-law, Joe O’Quinn; sisters, Mildred Hunley, Bras d’Or, Rosella (Conrad) MacDonald, Sydney Mines; 31 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband, Dean; son, Bernard; daughters, Carole and Judy, daughter-in-law, Cyrella Boutilier and son-in-law, Harold O’Handley.
A mass celebrating Elizabeth’s life will be held on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011, at 10 a.m. in St. Stephen Church, Florence, with, her nephew, Fr. Vern Boutilier officiating. After the mass, a reception will take place at the Florence Legion.
Donations in mom’s memory may be made to the food bank or a charity of one’s choice.
