Mary passed away peacefully on Friday, September 16, 2011. She was born in the St. Julian, Saskatchewan district on January 18, 1914. She married Metro Chytyk November 22, 1931; they farmed at Bonne Madone, Saskatchewan for a few years. They had two children; Rosalind and Orest, then sold the farm and relocated to Tarnapol. Eventually, in 1947, they moved to Prince Albert and lived there until retirement. Mary was widowed in 1988. Her daughter passed away in 1997 so in 2000 she moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba to be close to her son, Orest. Mary lived in Winnipeg for over ten years, but her last six months was confined to a personal care home. Over the years, Mary visited in Nova Scotia, British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, and several states in the U.S.A., including Arizona and Florida. Mary was pre-deceased by her husband Metro; her daughter Rosalind; her parents Mykyta and Ksenia Cisetsky; her four brothers: John, Harry, Dick and Roy; her two sisters: Katharina and Jessie, and also three sisters in infancy. Mary is survived by her son Orest (Betty) Chytyk; her three grandchildren: Carol Bais, Dawn (Ron) Kristalovich, and Paul Chytyk (David Schnell); her three great-grandsons: Terrence, Jonah, and Adrian; and her three great-grand daughters: Xenia, Amanda and Amy. In lieu of flowers, a donation to a charity of your choice will be appreciated. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, September 23, 2011 at 10:00 am, at Holy Trinity Ukranian Orthodox Church, Prince Albert, with Fr. Michael Lomaszkiewciz officiating.
