FOOTE, Kenneth Morrell “Ken” - 85, of Middleton, passed away Monday, September 19, 2011 in Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Pembroke Shore, Yarmouth County, he was a son of the late Donald and Blanche (Nickerson) Foote. Ken retired after 60 years of employment with J.D. McKenzie’s Creamery and Farmers Dairy. He was a committed blood donor for many years and a 52-year member of the Middleton Fire Department for which he received many long service awards. He was an accomplished sign painter and enjoyed gardening and feeding the birds. Ken was a member of the Middleton United Baptist Church. He is survived by a nephew, Kenneth (Heather) Foote, Conquerall Mills, Lunenburg County and numerous cousins. He was recently predeceased by his brother George. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service was held 11 a.m. Thursday, September 22nd in Pine Grove Cemetery, Middleton. Rev. Danny Smith officiated. Donations in memory may be made to the Middleton Fire Department. McLaughlin, Franklin Leroy. At West Haldimand General Hospital, Hagersville, Ontario on Monday, September 19, 2011. Frank McLaughlin of Jarvis (formerly of Grimsby), in his 81st year. Beloved husband for almost 60 years of Louise (Burns) McLaughlin. Dear father of Kathy and Carl Blades of Margaretsville, N.S., Gloria Crouse of Jarvis, Randy McLaughlin of Dunnville, Richard McLaughlin of Jarvis, Robert and Rose McLaughlin of Markdale and Kim and Carson Armstrong of Jarvis. Also survived by 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Brother of William, Donald and Alice and the late Bev., Thelma, Muriel, Charles and Ronald. Visitation was held at COOPER FUNERAL HOME, 19 Talbot Street West, Jarvis on Thursday 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Funeral service for Frank was held at Cooper Funeral Home at 1 p.m., September 22. Cremation followed with interment to take place in Nova Scotia. Donations to Canadian Diabetes Association or the Parkinson’s Society Canada would be appreciated by the family.
