Peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Friday, September 23, 2011 after a brief but courageous struggle with cancer, of Mrs. Colleen Malone (nee Keefe) of Hampshire, age 61 years.
Beloved wife of Leonard and dear mother of Leslie and Jason. Cherished daughter of Genevieve and the late Leonard Keefe of Kinkora, P.E.I., and sister to Leonard (Jean), Brian (Lou-Anne), Marion (Doug Clorey), Terry (Janice), Ron (Susan), Blair (Kathy), Dr. Janice (late William Fisher) and Dr. Greg (Debbie). Doting aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. Sister-in-law of Sr. Helen Malone, Thelma Devine (late Ernie Devine), Lorraine Malone.
Predeceased by mother and father-in-law Johanna and Frank Malone, brothers and sisters-in-law Earl and Maurice Malone, Eleanor McEntee (John) and Bernadette Olinyk (Tom), and niece Darlene Devine.
Colleen will be greatly missed and fondly remembered for her warmth, strength and hospitality by her many friends and relatives.
Colleen was a retired Director of the Civil Service Commission of the P.E.I. government. Active in many volunteer and church-related initiatives over the years, she was currently serving as a Board member of Tremploy, Inc.
Resting at the Hennessey Funeral Home for visiting hours on Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral will be held on Tuesday with funeral mass from St. Francis of Assisi Church, Cornwall, at 10 a.m.
