Passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving family at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home on Saturday, September 24, 2011, James Patrick Quilty, aged 83 years. Predeceased by his wife Mary (nee Vaters); daughter Jacqueline; father and mother: James and Ester Quilty. Leaving to mourn his children: Patsy (Paul) Whalen, Greg (Debbie) Quilty, Beverly (Bob) Walsh, Robert Quilty, Gary (Michelle) Quilty, Maurice (Michelle) Quilty, Shawn (Regina) Quilty, Michelle (Tony) Ryan, Gail (Keith) Clancey, Jimmy (Violet) Quilty, Glen (Sherri) Quilty and Scott (Jennifer) Quilty; brother Tony (Cheryl) Quilty; special sister Betty Whitty; 27 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren. Also leaving to mourn members of the Vaters family, other relatives and friends. Special thank you to St. Patrick’s Mercy Home. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Avenue, Mount Pearl on Sunday from 7-9 p.m .and then on Monday and Tuesday from 10 a.m.-9p.m. Funeral Mass to be held from Holy Family Parish, Paradise on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at The Roman Catholic Cemetery, Topsail.
