Joseph and Julia O'Grady
of Carbonear, passed away tragically in Western Bay on Friday, September 23, 2011. Mr. O’Grady was 72 years old and Mrs. O’Grady was 71 years old. They leaves to mourn their loving family: children: Madeleine (Bill) Crawford, Mary (Brian) Butt, Gene (Cheryl Rose) O'Grady, Noel (Bonnie Philips) O'Grady, Tina O'Grady-Mahaney (Gordon Mahaney) and Glen (Cathy) O'Grady; grandchildren: Jennifer (Adam), Julie (Chris), Tyler, Amanda, Vanessa (Kory), Adam, Aimee, Cheyenne, Glenn Jr. (Kara), Lucas, Hannah and Brooklyn; great-grandchildren: Gavin and Jaden; Mr. O'Grady's sisters: Helen (Les) Burden & Bride (Gerald) Butler; Mrs. O'Grady's brothers: William (Mary) Curran, David (Cathy-Ann) Curran, Philip (Elvie) Curran, Joseph Curran and Dominic (Brenda) Curran; sisters: Anastisia Furey, Elizabeth Cherry, Aggie (Wayne) Bishop, Lucy Griffin and Catherine (Jim) Mercer; sister-in-law: Annie Curran. Predeceased by: Mrs. O'Grady is predeceased by her parents William & Agnes (Parsons) Curran, brother Maurice Curran, brothers-in-law Edward Furey and George Cherry. Mr. O'Grady is predeceased by his parents Eugene & Mary O’Grady. The Funeral Mass will take place at St. Patrick’s R.C. Church and Cemetery, Carbonear, on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. The Family will be receiving relatives and friends at Slade’s Funeral Home, Powell Drive, Carbonear between the hours of 7-9:30 P.M. Wednesday, 10:30 a.m. - 12 Noon, 2-5 P.M. and 7 – 9:30 p.m. Thurs. & Fri. The family will be leaving Slade’s Funeral Home at 10:15 a.m. on Saturday. As expressions of sympathy flowers are gratefully accepted or donations may be made in their memory to the Tri-Con Special Olympics.
