Kenneth Green

GREEN, KENNETH GORDON - It is with heavy hearts that the Green family announces the passing of Kenneth Gordon Green of Halifax, NS on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Ken was born October 26, 1943 in Woodstock, NB to the late Donald and Jean (Dickinson) Green. As a young man, Ken was involved in many sports. He was a fraternity brother of Pi Gamma Delta and was a star basketball player for Ricker College in Houlton, Maine. In later years he spent countless hours coaching baseball and basketball. Ken spent most of his professional life in the IT industry. He began his career with NB Tel and moved on to work for companies such as Blue Cross and McCain Foods, eventually retiring from Clearwater Fine Foods. Known for his many, often humorous sayings, Ken enjoyed reading, golf and woodworking but his true passion was his family. Whether he was tending to the bonfire, riding his lawn tractor, or just sitting on the porch, Ken was happiest when the whole family was around. Ken is survived by his wife Geraldine “Gerri” (Matthews) of Halifax, NS; son, Jeffrey (Lisa) of Quispamsis; daughter, Jillian Hope (Jamie) of Quispamsis; two brothers: Donald (Nadine) of Calgary, AB and Arthur (Mary) of Ottawa, ON; four grandchildren: Emma and Rebecca Green, Rachel and Ryan Hope; and several nieces and nephews.
