Passed peacefully away on October 16, 2009 at the Victoria General Hospital, Halifax, surrounded by the love of her family. Predeceased by her son Kenneth and her father Gerard Smyth. Leaving to mourn her husband Dr. Douglas Taylor and sons: Andrew and Colin. Also leaving to mourn her mother Helen Smyth; brothers: Bob (Corrine), Peter (Sharon), Paul (Angela Clouter), Stephen (Joy Borgaonkar); sisters: Sr. Diane, Maureen (John Turpin), Cathy (Les Barbour), Janet (Jean Marc Piche), Helen (Tony Patterson), Christine (Richard Hammond); as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, good friends and colleagues. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Rd. on Wednesday, October 21 from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday, October 22 from 2 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held from The Basilica of St. John the Baptist on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. with interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Topsail Road.
