O'BRIEN, EVA - Eva O'Brien, 90, of McQueen St. Shediac and formerly of Inglis St. Shediac passed away suddenly at her residence on Sunday, October 9, 2011. Born in Shemoque, March 1st, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Simon and Delphine (Cormier) Leblanc.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxilliary Legion Branch # 33 Shediac, Shediac Golden age club and loved playing darts, bingo, cards and bowling. She is survived by her daughter: Marie Auffrey of Dieppe; four sons: Donald (Raija), Robert (May), Claude (Marie) and Emile (Yvettte) all of Shediac; one brother: Tilmon (Juliette) of Cocagne; 13 grandchildren: Randy, Chris, Monique, Daniel, Mathieu, Jean-Marc, Pierre, Stéphanie, Leigh Ann, Jacques, Marielle, Nadine and Daniel; six great grandchildren: Alexandre, Jacob, Samuel, Alex, Sophie and Anabelle. She was predeceased by her husband the late Jacob O'Brien (1978); three sisters: Christine, Evelyne and Alma.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Frenette Funeral Home Ltd., 396 Main St., Shediac (532-3297) on Tuesday, from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, from 10:00 a.m. until time of departure 10:50 a.m. Funeral mass will be held at Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Shediac on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in the parish cemetery.
