DODGE, Darrell Allen - 51, of New Minas, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2011 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Wolfville, he was a son of Basil and Jean (Hunt) Dodge, New Minas. He had been employed with Milne’s and later Kia Land as a mechanic and an auto body man for over 20 years. He had a passion for cars and trucks. In his younger years, he enjoyed bowling, fishing and playing hockey and was an avid fan of the Boston Bruins. He also enjoyed his dogs, Harley and Gunner. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a daughter, Kayleigh Dodge, Waterville and St. John’s, Newfoundland; maternal grandmother, Dorothy Hunt, Wolfville Nursing Home; his girlfriend, Kelly Reeves and her children, Riley and Tori; a sister, Marlene (Jeff) Campbell and a brother, Marty (Mimi), all of New Minas; nieces and nephews, Cara (Jordan) Rogers and their children, Orin and Ava; Megan (Rob) Puttock; Matthew Dodge and his daughter, Taylor; Melissa (Cory) Devaney. Cremation has taken place. There was no visitation, by request. The funeral service, followed by a reception, was held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 8, 2011 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend Gary Manthorne officiating. Burial took place in the Willowbank Cemetery, Wolfville. Donations in memory may be made to Camp Brigadoon or to any charity supporting hearing and speech impairment.
