It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the passing of Dennis Walsh on Monday, Oct. 17, 2011, at home after a long battle with cancer.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of Mrs. Jean Walsh, Big Ridge and the late Ray Walsh.
Dennis was an engineer with National Sea Product. He spent many years travelling the world as an engineer. Dennis was also a fisherman on the trawlers. He enjoyed spending time on the water, with his family and friends.
Besides his mother, Dennis is survived by his son, Joey Walsh (Michelle Porter), Halifax; his precious grandchildren, Madeline Ray and Ethan; good friend, Lavinia ‘Pat’ (Kelly). He is also survived by his siblings, Heather Walsh, Tim Walsh, both of Sydney, Glenn (Barb) Walsh, Reserve Mines, Arnold (Carol Ann) Walsh, Sydney, Brenda (Bob) Pyke, Sydney Forks, Barry (Janet) Walsh, Orangeville, Ont.; special nephew, Hayden Ray Walsh; several nieces and nephews, as well as his four-legged friend and companion Simba.
Cremation has taken place. By his request there will be no visitation or service. A celebration of Dennis’ life will take place at 125 Christopher Cres., Sydney, the home of Arnold and Carol Ann from 6-8 p.m., Friday, Oct. 21.
