April 20, 1933 – October 18, 2011, longtime resident of Grande Prairie, passed away suddenly at Kakut Lake, Alberta on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at the age of 78 years. Bill was born on April 20, 1933 in Petty Harbour, Newfoundland. He moved to Grande Prairie 16 years ago, where he enjoyed family, Ham Radio operating and camping. Bill will be sadly missed by his loving wife Helen (Lythgoe) of 54 years; sons Tom (Faye), Derrick (Sharon), John (Norma), Jim (Lorraine); daughters Marilyn, Margaret (Rocky Williams); grandchildren Chad, Jennifer, Todd, Adam, Colin, Robin, Kyle, Melissa, Jillian, Zachery, Ashley; great-grandchildren Connor and Isabella; sisters: Betty Morey, Rita Kieley, Lucy Earles; many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents William and Margaret, and brother Robert. A wake will be held on Sunday, October 23, 2011 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Oliver’s Grande Prairie Funeral Chapel. Prayer service will also be held on Sunday, October 23, 2011 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Oliver’s. Funeral service will be held on Monday, October 24, 2011 at 2:00 pm at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grande Prairie. Inurnment will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at 11:00 am at Grande Prairie Cemetery.
