John Kinley Moore

The death of John Kinley Moore, husband of the late Alice (Dickson) Moore occurred at the Shannex Nursing Home on Sunday, October 16, 2011 after a period of failing health.
Son of the late Freeman and Clara (Home) Moore, he was born in New Glasgow, NS on June 20, 1931
He started his career with The New Glasgow Evening News as a machinist and after moving to Saint John, NB, continued at the Telegraph Journal and The Evening Times Globe where he worked as a typesetter and ad compositor until he retired. He was a member of the International Typographical Union and the Jarvis Bay Legion. He played the bass drum as a member of the Nova Scotia Highland Pipe Band in his early years and was active in square dancing as a member of the Ties and Frills in Grand Bay in his later years. He enjoyed bowling, playing darts and cards, square dancing, watching western movies, and reading western novels.
He is survived by his children: Margaret (Dan) Murray, Cynthia (Richard) Mott, Robert (Darlene) Moore, Jonathan (Tammy) Moore; step-children: Sherry (Brian) Lyons, Kimberley (Andrew) Hopper, sister, Aleen (Morgan) Kraft, six grandchildren: Michael Murray, Jeremy (Laura Lee) Mott, Robert Jr. (Natasha) Moore, Christopher (Katie) Moore, Kelsey (Ryan) Donaldson, Kirstie (John) Hopper, Richard Hopper, three great-grandchildre: Delilah Moore, Dylan Donaldson, Zachary Donaldson and first wife, Elizabeth (Murray) Moore.
Visitation was held at Brenan’s Funeral Home, Saint John, NB on Tuesday, October 18. Funeral service was held Wednesday, October 19, 2011 and following cremation a private ceremony was held for the family at Ocean View Memorial Gardens on Thursday, October 20, 2011.
