MANSKE - Edna was born on August 10, 1928, at Meyronne, SK, and passed away from this life on October 11, 2009, at Swift Current, SK, at the age of 81 years. She leaves to cherish her memory her children and grandchildren: son, Brian (Caroline) Manske of Dallas, Texas, and grandchild: Donnie Manske; son, Arlen (Barb) Manske of Davidson, SK, grandchildren: Amy Lee (Justin) Sampson, Shannon (Trent) Tomyn and Landon Manske; daughter, Jeannette Manske of Swift Current, SK, and grandchildren: Matthew and Dallas Manske and six great-grandchildren; her brothers and sisters: Abbey Croissant, Raymond (Pearl) Croissant, Mabel Senft, Selma Godlein, Murray (Junette) Croissant and sister-in-law Janet Croissant; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Edward and Carrie Croissant; husband Edward Manske; son Kelvin Manske in infancy; and her brother Reuben Croissant. Edna was educated and raised in the Woodrow and Gravelbourg district and attended the Herbert Bible School for one year. In 1947, she married Edward Manske and they resided in the Hodgeville district and together they farmed and raised their children. In 1976 they moved into Swift Current where she resided until her passing. Edna was known for her welcoming home and her excellent homemaking skills. The aroma of fresh baking always welcomed a visitor to her door. Whenever family or friends faced a need, they could always look to Edna for counsel and fervent prayer on their behalf. Edna enjoyed reading, crocheting, the Friday afternoon ladies coffee group and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her funeral service was held Saturday, October 17, 2009, at Alpine Church of God in Swift Current with Rev. Alex Allan and Dr. Brian Manske officiating, with tributes given by her children and grandchildren. The pallbearers were her grandchildren and one nephew, Shawn Croissant. Internment took place at Mount Pleasant Burial Park, Swift Current, SK. Memorial donations may be made to Gideon's International.
