CORMIER, AQUILLA - Aquilla Cormier, 81, of Bas Cap-Pelé, passed away surrounded by his family on Monday, October 24, 2011 at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont University Hospital Centre, Moncton following a brief illness. Born in Bas Cap-Pelé, March 25, 1930, he was the son of the late Aime and Edmee (Landry) Cormier. Aquilla will be greatly missed by his loving family, his wife Alice (LeBlanc) Cormier; one daughter: Donna Squires (James) of Bathurst, two sons: Daniel Cormier (Caroline) of Shediac, Gérald Cormier (Louise) of Grand-Barachois; one sister: Géraldine Leblanc (late Joseph) of Grand-Barachois; three brothers Paul Cormier (Germaine) of Bas Cap-Pelé, Alfred Cormier (Annette), Clorice (late Aline) of Cap-Pelé; one half brother: Léo-Paul Cormier (Maria) of Bas Cap-Pelé; four grandchildren: Alain, Jacques, Élisa, Émelie; two step grandchildren: Lisa, Jimmie and by several nieces and nephews. Aquilla is predeceased by three sisters: Esther, Georgia, Anne-Marie and by one brother Roy.
Visitation at Funérarium Frenette, 2642 Acadie Rd., Cap-Pelé (577-3297) on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. On Thursday 9:30 a.m. until time of departure 10:20 a.m. Funeral mass will be held at Ste. Thérèse d'Avila R.C. Church, Cap-Pelé on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the parish cemetery. Donations in Aquilla's memory can be made to Canadian Diabetes Association.
