Wilson, Eugene William “Bill” — 70, of Newport Station, Hants County, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2011, in the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, surrounded by his family. Born on July 29, 1941, in Newport Station, Hants County, Nova Scotia, he was the son of the late Karl and Linda (Whitehead) Wilson. Bill was a self-employed auto body repairman and mechanic. He was an avid camper, hunter, and dart player. He enjoyed watching antique car shows, and especially teaching his grandsons auto repairs. Bill is survived by his wife of 47 years, the former Elizabeth “Liz” Louise Smith; daughter, Lynn (Steven) Burgess, St. Croix; son, Todd (Patricia), Bishopville Road; grandchildren, Brad Wilson, Jon Wilson and Tyler Burgess; special granddaughter, Megan (Scott) Hunter and their daughter, Annabel; brothers, James (Paula), Kentville; George, Newport Station; Dale (Cathy), Yarmouth; sisters, Charlene Barry, Windsor; Beulah Smith, Windsor; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by, grandson, Corey Burgess; brothers, Carl (Dub) and Donald (Ab); sisters, Margaret Wilson and infant sisters, Emma and Leona; nephew, Tim Wilson. Visitation was 7-9 p.m. Thursday, October 20, in Lindsay`s Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor. Funeral service was 2 p.m. Friday, October 21, 2011, in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home Chapel. The Pastor John Luten officiated, followed by a reception in the Lindsay Family Reception Centre. Interment was in the Ste. Croix Cemetery, St. Croix, Hants County. Donations in memory of Bill were requested to be made to the Dialysis Machine, c/o Hants Community Hospital Foundation or to a charity of one’s choice.
