It is with deep sorrow that the family announces the passing of Peter Bowring on Tuesday, October 25th, 2011 at 80 years of age.

Peter is survived by his loving and devoted wife Dinah, daughters Debi (Steve) of Surrey, England, Sharon (Paul) Magee of Port Hardy, BC, grandchildren Bryan, Katrina, Natasha, and Connie, great granddaughter Riley Lily, as well as sister Pearl Goodbody, and brother Bill.

Peter was born in Portsmouth, England, where he served in the R.A.F. for two years and also in the Merchant Navy. Peter married Dinah in 1956 and then immigrated to Canada (British Columbia) in 1957, where their two daughters were born. Peter was a qualified auto mechanic, a welder and millwright. He taught welding at Burnaby North High School. More recently, he worked at Afton Mine until his retirement.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Stinson, the nurses and staff of 6-South RIH, as well as all of the staff at Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice, for their kind and compassionate care during his illness.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 5th, 2011 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 779 Franklin Rd., Kamloops, BC, with a long time friend, David Mayers, officiating.
