Passed peacefully away on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, Vivian Marshall, aged 86 years. Well known businessman (Marshall Motors and Viking Motors); a life member of the Mt. Pearl Lion’s Club, a recipient of the Melvin Jones Fellow Award. Predeceased by parents Major Frederick W. Marshall and Emily Jane Marshall, two brothers Derek and Cyril and sister-in-law Maisie. Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 62 years, Gwen (nee Smith); son, Fred (Sandy); daughter, Cindy Marshall; four grandchildren: Krista (Shawn) Hillier, Christopher (Alicia) Marshall, Heather (Patrick) Mones and Mark Marshall (fiancé, Megan Foley); five great-grandchildren: Olivia, Ellie Rose and Oliver Marshall, Kamron Hillier and Braden Mones; brothers-in-law: Roy Smith (Doris), Victor Smith (Juanita, deceased) and Ben Smith (Pearl); sisters-in-law: Ruth Marshall, Muriel (Ed) Hayley and Bernice (Bill) Spurrell; also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends especially Ray (Dot) Bishop, Ruby Ledrew, Nita Keeping and the Murphy family. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road with visitation on Thursday and Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 – 12 noon. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. from the Anglican Cathedral. Cremation to follow. Graveside committal service will be held on Monday, October 31, 2011 at 11:00 at the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road.
