In the early hours of Wednesday morning, October 26th, 2011, John Shaw gently passed away at the Waterford Hospital at the age of 75 years. He was predeceased by his parents Andrew and Mary Shaw, sisters Mary (Douglas Osmond) and Isabel (Robert Foley), brother Robert Shaw. Leaving to mourn with tremendous fond memories is his loving wife Agnes O’Mara; and his cherished loyal friends Margaret and John Ryan, Keith and Brenda James; sisters: Angela (Gerald) Burdette, V.A, U.S.A, Imelda (Ronald) Gosse, St. Albert, AB; brother Andrew Shaw (Florence deceased) B.C., as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives, former colleagues and friends. John also leaves behind many members of the Congregation of Christian Brothers of whom he was such a proud member for 36 years. He leaves to mourn as well all those people who were such a significant part of his life throughout his many years of teaching, coaching soccer and facilitating Young Christian Leadership Organization – YCLO. You gave him life and energy and he spoke so fondly of his years together with you. Visitation for John will be held at Barrett’s Funeral Home 73 Commonwealth Avenue on Thursday, October 27th, 2011 and Friday, October 28th, 2011 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral Mass in celebration of John’s life will take place on Saturday, October 29th, 2011 from St. Theresa’s Church at 11:30 am. Inurnment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
