John Allistar Chisholm ‘Jack’ died on October 27, 2009.
Jack was born on May 17, 1929 in Westville, NS.
He was the son of John Henry and Mary (MacAuley) Chisholm.
He was predeceased by a brother, James. He leaves behind his wife, Ruth Joyce Chisholm; sisters, Dorothy (Russell) Canning and Mary; sons, John Wesley (Leanne) and Robert (Sarah); grandchildren, Emily and Jack and many nieces and nephews.
Jack served for 30 years in the Royal Canadian Navy, retiring as a commander. He fought in conflicts in Korea and at Wounded Knee, serving on many RCN vessels. He was awarded the Queen’s Commendation for bravery. Jack was an avid gardener and a fantastic cook.
He will be sadly missed.
