Arlene MacNaughton

MacNAUGHTON, ARLENE G. - 1939-2011 - Miramichi - Arlene Georgina MacNaughton, widow of the late Earl MacNaughton, of Hotel Dieu Street, Miramichi, and formerly of the Upper Black River Road, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Monday, November 14, 2011, at the age of 72. Born in Chatham, on September 12, 1939, she was the daughter of the late William G. and Freda (Neilson) Gilliss. She was a homemaker and a teaching aide by occupation. She was a member of St. Stephen's United Church, Black River Bridge and following her move to the city, attended St. Andrews United Church, Miramichi. She was a member of the U.C.W. of both St. Stephen's United Church and St. Andrews United Church and a member of the Cursillo Group. She is survived by two daughters, Kandis Trevors, of Toronto, Ont. and Barbara MacNaughton, of Napan; one son, Stephen Trevors, of Toronto, Ont.; five sisters, Aletha Constable (Joe), of Riverview, Isabel Smith (John), of Dartmouth, N.S., Evelyn Davenport (Jerry), of B.C., Christina Sturgeon (Roland), of Napan, Pauline Myles (Terry), of Boom Road; one brother, Carl Gilliss (Elaine), of Miramichi; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Earl, in 1998; five sisters, Joyce Dickson, Ruth Clarke, Wilimina Gilliss, Mildred Gilliss, Gladys Russell; four brothers, James, Harry, Ralph and William Gilliss.
Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., with visiting on Thursday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held from St. Andrews United Church, Miramichi, on Friday, November 18, 2011, at 2 pm, conducted by Rev. Charlene Maguire MacKnight, assisted by Penny Postlethwaite. Interment will be in the Black River Community Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to any charity of the donors' choice, would be appreciated by the family.
