With hearts saddened by loss, the family of ARTHUR STANLEY (STAN) HARRIS announces his peaceful passing on November 13, 2011 in his 80th year. Left to cherish wonderful memories are his beloved wife Muriel (Knicley); daughters Barbara (Donald) Butlin of Moose Jaw SK, Cori (Darrell) Nay of Mississauga Susan (Ray) Carter of Cold Lake, AB, Mary (Robin) Taylor of Calgary, AB and loving brother to Mary (Jim) Green of Calgary, AB. Stan treasured his grandchildren Jennifer (Steven) Wyatt, Nicole (Devon) Geiger, Curtis (Sylvia Magyrs) Nay, Kevin and Cameron Nay, Cora and Scott Carter, Shannon and Harrison Taylor and great-grandchildren Jalen Wyatt & Lucas Geiger. He is fondly remembered by his sisters-in-law Ruth Ostling & Corrine Moore & brother-in-law Bruce (Anne) Knicley and countless nieces and nephews.
Stan began his career with Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) in Strathclair, MB as a telegrapher, followed by Chief Dispatcher, Ass’t & Superintendant encompassing many divisions across Canada. Stan was a member of the Masons Damascus Preceptory N0. 58; MOCHA Shriner’s London; Past-President and current member of Kiwanis Club of Middlesex (London); and volunteered over the past 20 years for the London Health Sciences Centre Auxiliary. Stan will be deeply missed by his family and friends who will fondly remember his kindness, generosity, sense of humour and winning smile. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Bequest and Endowment Fund of the Kiwanis Middlesex, 78 Riverside Dr., London, ON. N6H 1B4 or the V.O.N.
