Curtis Jordan “Jordie” Brown - 19, of Port Williams and Kentville, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2011 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, after a life-long battle with cancer. Born in Kentville, he was a son of Norman Brown and Sally Brown. Jordie loved soccer and was an avid player until his fourth surgery in 2009. Jordie loved people! Always active, he was very social and enjoyed every day to the fullest. Besides his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Norman Gregory and Taylor Jamieson, at home; grandparents, Dr. Charles A. and Faie Brown, Kentville; Joan Bishop, North Hately, Quebec; four aunts, Debbie (Andrew) St. Pierre and their children, Christopher and Matthew, Halifax; Valerie (Stuart) Wright and their children, Ceilidh and Colin, Halifax; Jennifer Brown, Middleton; Linda Bishop and her children, Holly and Thomas, British Columbia; three uncles, Andrew (Melissa) Brown and their son, Cayden, Yarmouth; Peter (Mary Lynah) Bishop, Saco, Maine; Jeff Bishop (Jenny) and their children, Gordon, William and Daniel, Victoria, British Columbia. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to nurses Ann Chapman and Irene Spares who worked with Jordan since his diagnosis and during all of his treatments, as well as the pediatric nursing staff at the Valley Regional Hospital for all of their care and support. Cremation has taken place. Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, November 20, 2011 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception, was held at 4:30 p.m. Monday, November 21, 2011, Reverend Elizabeth Johnson officiating. Donations may be made to the Valley Regional Hospital - Palliative Care Unit. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
