Annie Elizabeth (Urquhart) MacInnes
Born: June 24th, 1917
Passed in: SYDNEY, Nova Scotia, Canada
Passed on: November 18th, 2011
It is with great sadness, the family announce the peaceful passing of Annie on Nov. 18, 2011, with family by her side at the Cove Guest Home, where she resided the past several years.
Annie is survived by her children, John, Sydney, Catherine (Mel Wambolt), Sydney, Dorothy (Lesley Moore), British Columbia, Kenneth, Ontario, and Joan (Danny), British Columbia; her brother, Roy (Marie), Sydney; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, John and Margaret (Brown) Urquhart, husband, Jack, son, Donald, sister, Dorothy, brothers Alec, Donnie, George, Kenny and John.
Annie was born and lived her whole life in Sydney. Widowed young, she was given the daunting task of raising her six children on her own. Her legacy speaks of her dedication and unwavering selflessness in providing a loving, caring home for her children. She was a wonderful homemaker, with a strong work ethic. Mom’s personal strength and faith were so much greater than her diminutive frame.
The family wish to extend their gratitude to the Cove Guest Home for the excellent care and compassion shown to our mother, most particularly the Skylight Unit.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011, at Sydney Memorial Chapel at 1 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m with Rev. Thomas Whent officiating. Internment will be in Hardwood Hill Cemetery.
Condolences may be sent to the family at www.sydneymemorialchapel.ca or e-mail sydneymemorialchapel@ns.sympatico.ca.
