It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Mary Josephine MacDonald (nee Dawe) on Nov. 20, 2011.
This is also a celebration of a generous and open-hearted mother and friend whose life touched so many people.
Mom always made time for her family and friends and her welcome mat was well-worn.
Mom was born July 28, 1928, to Frank and Elizabeth Maude Dawe (nee Oliver).
Mom was predeceased by her parents, her brother, Frankie and sister, Francie.
Mom is survived by her five loving children, Donna (John), Maureen (Robert), Bill (Louise), Michael (Wendy) and Bobby (Suzanne) and 12 very lucky grandchildren. Mom is also survived by her loving sister, Ann Dawe in Texas.
Mom was predeceased by her second husband, Mike MacDonald, and her stepchildren, Catherine, Kenny, Mike and Carol.
Mom is survived by her stepchildren, Theresa-Marie, Harold (Bunker), Francis and Robert.
Mom was a proud and dedicated 30-plus year veteran of the Metropolitan Stores where her warm personality lit up Charlotte Street. We honour our mother who lived her life forever young.
A special thank you to New Dawn Enterprises and especially to the VON’s social program initiative that so inspired Mom as well as the staff who made home visits.
