Passed peacefully away at the Dr. G.B Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville on Friday, November 18, 2011 Norman Keel of Clarenville, formerly of Bonavista, in his 80th year. Leaving to mourn is his devoted wife Ruby Keel (nee Quinton); one daughter Wendy (Dave Scurrey); two son’s Kevin and Paul (Donna Baird); sister’s Ruby Norris (Max), Winnie Skiffington (Late Clun), Marjorie Strong (Phillip), Mary Keel, Ella Strong (Derek), Marty Short (Eric) Jenny Keel, Mildred McDonald (Brian), Mabel; brother’s Johnny Keel (Ontario), Eugene Keel (Lorraine), Sandy Keel (Jeannette), Bob Keel (Cindy), Eddy Keel (Kim); grandchildren Jessica and Samantha Scurrey, Bradin, Riley and Ryden Keel, special niece Jennifer Keel, numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Remains resting at Fewer’s Funeral Home, Clarenville on Monday, November 21, 2011. Funeral to take place 2 PM on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 from St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Clarenville with interment at the Pleasant Street Cemetery, Clarenville. In his memory, donations may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Veterans Poppy Campaign. Norman is a former employee of Department of Highways as a grader operator with 37 years of service; member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 27 Clarenville; member of Royal Canadian Rangers; member of sponsoring committee of Clarenville Air Cadets 567 Random RCACS.
