It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Christie MacCuish on Nov. 3, 2009, at home with her family.
Born in MacAdam’s Lake on Nov. 17, 1915, she was the daughter of the late ‘Big’ Dougall Currie and Catherine MacIntyre.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her family.
Christie was a member of St. Mary’s parish, East Bay.
She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, LauraLee Tobin and Cherie Fong, who she helped raise during their mother’s illness and early passing.
Christie is survived by her two daughters, Carmella (Joe) MacLean, Boisdale, Catherine ‘Cassie’ (Kevin) Walker, Westmount; and one son at home, Michael ‘Mishie’ MacCuish. She is also survived by her two sisters, Maryann MacLean, P.E.I., and Lucy MacKenzie, Benacadie. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and several special nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Michael MacCuish, brothers, Donald and Johnny Currie, sister, Kay MacCuish and daughter-in-law, Lorraine MacCuish.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. under the direction of Chant’s Funeral Home. Burial will be Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, at 2:30 p.m. in St. Mary’s Church, East Bay.
Donations in Tina’s memory may be made to palliative care.
