ORENSTEIN, REUBEN P. - It is with great sadness that the family of Reuben Phillip Orenstein of Taymouth, N.B. announce his sudden passing on Monday, November 21, 2011 at the age of 70. Reuben was born in London, Ontario on September 22, 1941 and was the son of the late Norman and Leah (Fox) Orenstein. Reuben was a retired Social Worker with the Department of Health and Community Services. Following his retirement in 1996, he kept busy in his workshop and had several hobbies that always kept him occupied. Reuben will always be remembered as the most kind and friendliest deliveryman. For over 40 years Reuben was a faithful and devoted husband of Christina “Chris” (Cole) Orenstein. He was a loving dad to his three children, Mark (Kristina) Orenstein of Lethbridge, Alberta, Lara Clarkson of Taymouth and Joel (Megan) Orenstein of Medicine Hat, Alberta. He was affectionately called “Papa” by his four grandchildren, Sarah and Emily Clarkson, Kate and Eli Orenstein. Reuben is also survived by one sister, Mina Orenstein of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, U.S.A. and several cousins.
The family will receive condolences at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton on Thursday, November 24 from 2 to 4 P.M. and 7 to 9 P.M. A celebration of Reuben’s life will be held from Smythe Street Cathedral, 913 Smythe St. on Friday, November 25, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. Interment will be held at a later date. FAMILY FLOWERS ONLY PLEASE.
