Passed on: November 23rd, 2011
(February 12, 1922 – November 23, 2011). Passed peacefully away on Wednesday, November 23, 2011, after a short illness at the Health Sciences Centre. He was a voluntary veteran of the Navy while serving in WWII and upon his return joined the Merchant Marine and also a member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. Predeceased by his first wife Olive (Burry). Leaving to mourn with fond memories his loving wife of 30 years, Dorothy (Murphy) and daughter Heather (Alan) at home. Also, left to mourn his sons: Andy (Kathy), Bruce (Donna), Wayne, Frank (Kathy); and four daughters: Elizabeth (Rick), Marg, Gen, Bernice (Dave); 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; His three brothers: James, Richard, & William; and in-laws Jim (Florence), Bill (Shelia), Geraldine (Adolph), Bernice (Mike), Jane, Eileen, Tom, Paul and many special nieces and nephews. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road. Visitation from 2-9 p.m. Thursday and Friday. Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, November 26th at 9:30 am from St. Patrick’s Church, Patrick Street. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre.
