Alexander 'Alex' Currie of New Dawn Guest Home passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in New Waterford, Alex was the son of the late Nora (Corbett) and James Currie.
Alex is survived by two brothers, Malcolm and Ervin; and three sisters, Mary, Norma and Gennie.
Besides his parents, Alex was predeceased by three brothers, Bernie, Elmer and Donnie; and two sisters, Theresa and Irene.
Visitation and memorial service to celebrate the life of the late Alexander 'Alex' Currie will be held at the New Dawn Guest Home, 50 Military Road, Sydney on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 1 to 2 p.m. with memorial service to follow with Sr. Catherine Morris officiating.
Interment will take place in St. Michael's Cemetery, Scotchtown.
Donations in Alex's memory may be made to the New Dawn Guest Home or charity of one's choice.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of the Pier Community Funeral Home.
