McMURRAY, GERALDINE “DEAN” M. - It is with great sadness that the family of Geraldine “Dean” M. McMurray of Lincoln, N.B. announce her passing on Saturday, November 26, 2011. Geraldine was born in Fredericton, daughter of the late Gerald Gordon and Gertrude Mary (Lingley) Sharpe. Dean was very active with the Oromocto Kennel Club and so enjoyed her membership and time with the Fredericton Motorcycle Club. Of the many careers she pursued during her life all gave her great satisfaction especially with UPS in Fredericton. She is survived by her husband George McMurray (36 years); a son Craig Clarke of B.C.; a step-daughter Shelley Belyea of Saint John; a sister Greta Wakeling of St. John’s NFLD; brothers Doug (Moi) Sharpe of Calgary, Alberta and Rick (Serge) Sharpe of Fredericton; sister-in-law Phyllis Sharpe (late Butch) of B.C.; sisters-in-law, Patricia Sanborn (Joseph) of Cornwall, Ont., Maryann (Arthur) Hodgson of Sussex, Joan (Bruce) Martin of Nepean, Ont. and Mary Wilkins (Jerry) of Passekeag, N.B.; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, a brother Gerald “Butch” Thomas Sharpe and her brother-in-law George Wakeling.
The family will receive condolences at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton on Tuesday, November 29 from 2 to 4 P.M. and 7 to 9 P.M. A celebration of Geraldine’s life will be held at Bishop’s Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. with Father Monte Peters officiating. Interment will be held at a later date. Flowers or a memorial contribution to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
