It is with great sadness that the family of James Thomas Dunne announce his sudden passing on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at the age of 74 years, while on vacation in Las Vegas. Jim is predeceased by his father Alonzo James and brother Blaise. Left to mourn are his wife Patricia Roche; mother Mary; children: Jennifer (Jim Jones), Stephanie Dubé (Shawn), Jimmy (Stefani) and Jonathan (Katie); step-children: Krista French (Sean), Justin Cook (Rachel), Graham Cook (Kerri) and Patrick Cook; siblings: Diane Daly (Charlie), Jane Power (Mike), Andrea Manning (Ray), Peter (Ruth) and Roger; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Grandchildren Theodore and Colin Dunne, Jennifer and Olivia Dubé, Isabelle, Bridget and Nicholas Dunne and Casey and Logan French who will forever miss their fun-loving “Pops.”
For more than 40 years, Dr. Dunne was a respected obstetrician and gynecologist in St. John’s. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed golf, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and piloting. He touched the hearts and minds of many friends and colleagues. Treasured memories will remain in our hearts forever.
