It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Robert “Bob” Charles McCloy on November 26, 2011. He left us peacefully, with family by his side after a short and courageous battle with lung cancer. Bob was born April 11, 1929 in Wolseley, SK to Robert and Levona McCloy, the oldest of four children. Bob left home at 15 and worked various jobs such as CP Rail, painting and at a mink farm. In 1956 he began a 32 year career with the Moose Jaw Co-op working as a stock person and produce clerk. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and bowling and was in the same league for 56 years. He was an avid gardener and loved a gardening challenge such as growing vegetables from his own seeds, with tomatoes being his specialty. Bob faced his illness courageously and without complaint, inspiring those around him with his love and passion for life. He will be sadly missed by his devoted wife, Aline; children Gerard, Liliane (Rich) Weiterman, Marie (Brad) Podolski; grandchildren Kenneth, Kristin, Wyatt, Jaydon, Alexis, and Rachelle; great-grandson Jarred; sisters Doris Greenizian and Mary Batenchuk; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, brother Hugh, nephew Larry, brothers-in-law Isaak Greenizian, Mike Batenchuk and Albert Carignan. A Funeral Service will be held at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel on Thursday December 1, 2011 at 2:00 pm. Della Ferguson will officiate. A time of visitation will be held Wednesday November 30, 2011 from 7:00pm-9:00pm at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel. Interment will take place at a later date at Notre Dame Parish Cemetery in Ponteix. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Moose Jaw Health Foundation Palliative Care Unit, 455 Fairford St. E., Moose Jaw S6H 1H3.
